Terms of sale

These terms apply to every order placed on this site with Brox Metals. The order terms in the first section are the ones shown at checkout: you tick "I agree" before paying, and each order keeps the exact terms it was sold under, even if we update them later.

Order terms

Shown on every quote and agreed to at checkout.

  1. Colour and finish can vary slightly between production batches. Order all pieces for the same project in one order, especially pieces installed next to each other.
  2. Manufacturing tolerance: folded pieces ±0.5 mm on flange dimensions and ±1° on bend angles. Pieces within tolerance are not defects.
  3. Every piece is made to order. Once an order enters production it cannot be changed, cancelled or refunded.
  4. Full payment is required before delivery or collection. Deliveries are made on working days before 2:00 pm only.
  5. Made-to-order items are non-returnable except for manufacturing defects. Report a defect within 3 working days of receiving your order, with photos.
  6. Customer-supplied drawings (DXF) are fabricated exactly as drawn. Check all dimensions before ordering.
  7. Bare (uncoated) mild steel oxidises naturally, so coat or install promptly. Minor handling and tooling marks are normal on raw stock.
  8. On-screen colours are indicative only. Match against a physical sample where colour is critical.
  9. Fabricated metal can have sharp edges. Handle with gloves, or add deburring for smoothed edges.
  10. Lead times are estimates and can vary with workload and material availability.
  11. Ready dates are when your order is ready at our shop, to collect or to hand to the courier. Delivery takes another 1 to 3 days, depending on your location and courier.

Quotes and prices

Prices are calculated instantly as you configure each piece and are shown in MYR. The price in the order summary, including any delivery charge and any tax shown there, is what you pay.

A quote is honoured for 3 days from when it is created. After that it expires: an expired quote is never charged at the old price, it is re-priced at current rates as a new quote, which you can do from the quote page. We keep the drawings on an unpaid quote for 60 days after it expires (180 days in a verified account), or sooner if the unpaid quotes from your address or account, or from everyone, outgrow the space we keep for them; after that, re-pricing it means uploading them again.

When a drawing needs our fabricator’s check before it can be made, the quote goes for review before payment. The review is free, and there is no charge for a declined review. If the fabricator adjusts the price you see that on the quote before you pay. See the design guidelines for what is checked.

Payment

Payment is made online through Stripe’s secure payment form: by card or, where the checkout offers it, by FPX online banking from your Malaysian bank account. Card details go to Stripe, and an FPX payment is approved in your own bank’s online banking; we never see or store your card number or your banking login.

You can pay in full, and fabrication starts as soon as payment clears. For orders of RM 10,000.00 and above, the checkout also offers a 50% deposit. The balance is payable before delivery or collection: open your order from the link in your email, or from your account, and pay the balance there.

Full payment is required before anything is delivered or collected.

Lead times

Each lead-time option shows the date your order is ready at our shop, to collect or to hand to the courier. It is not a delivery date. Delivery takes another 1 to 3 days, depending on your location and courier.

Colour-finished pieces can add extra working days, and the exact number is shown in the builder when you choose the finish. Lead times are estimates and can vary with workload and material availability.

Delivery and collection

Delivery orders are sent within Malaysia by our courier to the delivery address you enter at payment. You can also choose free self-pickup from our workshop at Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh, Selangor; the ready date shown is when the order is ready to collect.

The courier’s transit time is on top of the ready date. Transit times are estimates given by the courier, not a guarantee. When your parcel is booked we email you the tracking number, and the courier’s status updates appear on your order page. Check the pieces when they arrive and report any problem within the window the order terms state, with photos.

Changes, cancellation and refunds

Every piece is made to order, cut to the sizes and the drawing you supplied. Once an order enters production it cannot be stopped, changed, cancelled or refunded. Customer-supplied drawings are fabricated exactly as drawn, so double-check dimensions, quantities and the “How we read it” notes on the review page before paying.

Made-to-order items are non-returnable except for manufacturing defects. Pieces within the manufacturing tolerance stated in the order terms are not defects. Report a defect within the window the order terms state, with photos, to hello@broxmetals.com.

Where a refund is owed, it is returned to the card or bank account you paid with, through Stripe.

Publishing a part to the Brox Marketplace

When you pay for an order with a part you designed yourself (a drawing you uploaded, or a part our AI part builder designed for you), you can publish that part to the Brox Marketplace, where other customers can find it and order it. You need to be signed in to your account, with your email address confirmed. Stock shapes from our catalogue can’t be published. The publishing discount isn’t offered at the moment.

The publishing discount is 5% off the order’s parts (after any bulk discount), at least RM 10.00 and at most RM 100.00, on orders whose parts come to RM 50.00 or more. It comes off before tax. You can take it once every 30 days for each account, email address and browser, and not on an order whose price our team has set for you. Each order keeps the figures it was priced with.

By publishing a part you confirm that it is your own design, that it isn’t confidential, and that you have the right to share it; and you give Brox Metals a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to show it on the marketplace and to make and sell it to other customers, in any material, finish and quantity they choose. You keep ownership of your design.

Other customers see a picture and a 3-D view of the part, its sizes, and the designer name you choose to show (none if you leave it blank). Your drawing file, your contact details and your order are never shown or shared.

We check every part before it goes up, and may decline or take down any part: for example one that isn’t its publisher’s own, can’t be made, or repeats another. A published part stays up for at least 12 months; to take yours down sooner, email us. Your order keeps its discount either way, but publishing parts that aren’t yours, or publishing only for the discount, can lose you the discount on future orders.

Store credit. When another customer orders a part you published and pays for that order in full, you earn 3% of that part’s price as store credit, at most RM 50.00 from any one order. Nothing is earned on your own orders. Credit can be spent 30 days after the order that earned it was paid, and lasts 12 months from then; the credit that expires soonest is spent first. It pays for up to 50% of an order’s parts and comes off before tax. If that order is refunded or disputed, the credit it earned is taken back, even if it was spent, in which case it comes off your next credit. Store credit isn’t cash: it can’t be withdrawn, exchanged or transferred.
